Bernie Velvick
Arts Based Community Development Officer
After graduating in printmaking as a mature student, Bernie worked as a technician in an FE college art department. She started teaching and became a Trustee for Prescap. Community Arts offered more freedom to design projects with participants and reach people so it gradually became Bernie’s focus.
The Prescap days that stand out for Bernie are days out and about talking to people and encouraging them to take part and have a go, making art and creative activities accessible to everyone.
Her favourite river is the Ribble, taking photos of the sunset looking out from the docks towards the sea.
