Working Together
A project that was designed to raise awareness and understanding of people with learning difficulties to the whole school and to other people from the community who access the building.
Working Together with – Pendle Community High School and College, an 11-19 generic learning difficulties special school and – Pendle Vale College, an 11-16 mainstream school to form understanding and respect.
The young people worked with artist Becky Atherton and took part in a range of art activities that helped them form understanding and respect for each other. They were asked to look at what defines them, this was presented as a portrait and an image with words, showing their likes, dislikes and personality.
The project gave access to new learning opportunities and raised self esteem and confidence. It was funded through Awards for All.
