Out of Africa
The Out of Africa Project is a beginner’s guide to the history of African peoples and it explores some of the real history of Africa.

We design tailor-made, visual and performance art projects with a huge range of partners – from carers to carnival bands – which help participants gain new skills, build confidence and combat isolation.
We help people explore issues and create exciting, vibrant visual and performance art works. But for us the process of creation and the personal growth of the people creating are as important as the final product.
It might be that a particular place or activity has given you an idea: a dreary wall in a school entrance, a logo that is not serving its purpose any longer or a conference you are organising that needs perking up. Or it could be that you have an issue you’d like to open up creatively, like so many young people, teachers, parents and professionals who have already worked with us to explore the things that matter to them.

A project that was designed to raise awareness and understanding of people with learning difficulties to the whole school and to other people from the community who access the building.
Mosaic madness while growing your own veg… Your Arts worked with Brockholes Wood Community Primary School to promote healthy growing and eating.
Your Arts ‘art-up’ the Saturday Superstars in Morecambe. There was photography, finger painting with jam and lemon cheese, mask making and lots more.

We’ve been having great fun during Your Prescap’s Community Arts Week, with workshops running throughout the week in our new Arts & Media Centre.
Artists using music, new media and language are working on a project to enable young men of the Callon and Fishwick wards in Preston
We use the arts to help with core curriculum work in schools such as using drama to help Year 5 & 6 develop their understanding of numbers and maths.
Working in partnership with Lancashire Wildlife Trust and other environmental organisations, for example, result in permanent installations such as sculptures, murals and mosaics. These can often address particular issues such as child friendly play areas and celebrating different cultural groups
A lot of our projects support people with particular issues such as branding for a social marketing campaign around harm reduction in binge drinking with Blackpool Integrated Youth Services.
