Get involved
Volunteer support is the key to Your Preston FM, and we are always looking for as many individuals and organisations as possible to get involved – both on-air and in supporting roles.
Maybe your group could spend some time making a programme about the issues that are important to you? Or perhaps you have a fantastic taste in music that you’d like to share with the world on your own prime-time show? Whatever your interest, we can provide the training to get you started, and support you along the way.
We’re always looking for new presenters, producers, technicians and journalists to get involved in this exciting community radio project. Whether you’re looking to kick-start a future career in the media, have a love of music that you want to share, or just want to have fun; Your Preston FM can help. No experience is necessary – we’ll give you all the guidance and support you need to get on-air – and people of all ages and abilities are welcome.
We regularly run courses for new volunteers. Take a look at our news pages to find out about upcoming courses we’re planning, and for details of how to apply.
We’re also always keen to hear from community groups, schools and other organisations who would like to be involved. We can often set up courses tailored to your group – so get in touch to find out more.
Volunteer
For more information about volunteering at Your Preston FM, take a look at our straightforward volunteering guide. You can register by filling in our volunteer registration form, on-line or by post by printing out this PDF version.
If you’re not ready to volunteer just yet, but would like us to keep you informed about our next set of courses, then please do still register with us. If you register with us, then we’ll e-mail you to let you know when bookings are open.
Maybe volunteering isn’t for you just now?
Here are some other ways you can get involved:
- Join our mailing list.
- Just send us an e-mail (radio@prescap.co.uk) with your e-mail or postal address, and we’ll make sure we keep in touch with all the latest news.
- Send us your stuff. If you’ve got a great demo track, or even an entire radio programme that you’ve made, then send it to us to play on air
- Help us promote the project. Tell your friends, display a poster or contact us for some leaflets to distribute.
- We can come and run a taster session at your community group, volunteer meeting or staff training day. It will give you more information about the project; help you to develop some programme ideas; and give you a taste of how radio is put together. Get in touch to arrange a visit.
If there’s any other way that you’d like to be involved with the project, or if you need help with developing your ideas or filling in the forms, then let us know.
