Saturday Brunch
Mark Howard
Saturday Brunch is Preston FM’s Saturday morning programme, now in its Terrible Twos. Broadcast from the top of Preston FM Towers which they scale each Saturday morning via rope bridge, abseil or rope-ladder and then break into the Penthouse suite of the Station Manager to set up in one of her spare rooms – Mark Howard and whoever else wonders past celebrate everything that makes Preston great. Taking with them only the bare essentials they need and hoping someone has remembered the string and plastic cups they launch themselves onto Prestonland – they settle into the Bunk Beds, make sure the scatter cushions are spread and the fizzy soft drinks and victoria sponge cakes are ready.
From clubs and societies to events, Prestonians to visitors they’ll talk to anyone including people from the world of entertainment Recent Guests have included Neil Sedaka, Simon King (from the Hairy Bikers), Julian Clary, Boy George, Clive Mantle, John Walker, David Essex, Wayne Smith, Ed Byrne, Joe Pasquale, Dave Spikey, Craig Chalmers, Ken Dodd, Gregg Wallace, Peter Purves, Leslie Grantham, Corrinne Wicks, Mark Wynter, Cllr. Veronica Afrin, Singleton’s Dairies, Anton Du Beke, Rawstorne Singers, Shobna Gulati, Andrew Dunn, Sam Barks, Amanda Barrie, Chris Hannon and many more – checkout their facebook page to see. There’s 2 hours of fun and mayhem, the running order is out the window its the radio version of busking.
